Jones County opened their 2018 season this afternoon with a win in game one versus Baton Rouge Lady Bears. Final Score was Jones County 6 and Baton Rouge 1.
The Lady Bobcats opened the scoring in the first inning with a solo homerun by Emily Robinson. They added to their lead in the second with a two run homerun by McCleskey. At the end of two innings, Jones County had a 3 to 0 lead over BRCC. Jones County picked up another run in the fourth inning and two more runs in the seventh inning to take a 6 to 0 lead over the Lady Bears heading into the bottom of the seventh.
The Lady Bears got on the board in the seventh inning when Hallie Autin started the inning off with a double to left field and scored on a double by Blayne Pence.
Hallie Donald was the winning pitcher for Jones County. She pitched six innings allowing no runs on four hits. Shelby Breaux took the lost for the Lady Bears. Shelby pitched a complete game allowing 3 earned runs on 11 hits and striking out two Lady Bobcats.
