Lady Bears fall in second game of the day to Co-Lin

After getting their first win of the season, the Lady Bears could not reproduce that magic against Co-Lin. Co-Lin Lady Wolves defeats BRCC Lady Bears 12 to 3 in five innings.  

The Lady Wolves opened the scoring in the second inning when Paige Hulin singled in Makenzie Smith for the first run of the game. In the third inning, the Lady Wolves exploded for 9 runs to take a 10 to 0 lead over the Lady Bears.

BRCC could not string together the hits needed to score a run until the bottom of the fifth inning.  The inning started with a Payge Hebert single followed by a sac fly by Hallie Autin which moved Payge over to second. Sara Tate then singled to move Payge over to third and she scored on an Emily Morin single. Liz Davis then hit a single to centerfield which scored SaraTate. Emily Morin scored on a sacrifice by Shelby McDonald and a throwing error by the Co-Lin pitcher. BRCC scored three runs in the top of the fifth but still trailed 10 to 3.

Co-Lin added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game. Final Score was Co-Lin 12 and BRCC 3. Root was the winning pitcher for Co-Lin while Sydnee McCall took the loss for BRCC.

Lady Bears Highlights:

Payge Hebert was 1 for2 with 1 run

Sara Tate was 2 for 2 with 1 run

Emily Morin was 1 for 3 with 1 run and 1 RBI

The Lady Bears will be back in action tomorrow Saturday February 3 at 12 pm and 2 pm versus Jones County. The game will be played at Oak Villa Park in Baton Rouge.
