Baton Rouge and Bossier Parish Split Softball DH

Saturday's doubleheader at Bossier Parish was crucial to Baton Rouge Community College, if they were to win both games, they would be that much closer to traveling to the District Tournament in Oklahoma City.

BRCC started the scoring in the second inning. Courtney Edwards made it safely to first from an infield error. After a sacrifice bunt by Megan Smith, an Alyssa Bush double scored Edwards.  

Baton Rouge found themselves leading again in the fourth inning. Courtney Edwards reached safely by another error from the right fielder. Royelle Cobb hits a single which put runners at first and second. Smith hit a RBI single to left scoring Edwards. Followed by a double by Michala Hughes that scored two runs. BRCC led 4-2. 

The Lady Bears went on to win game one by a score of 8-5.

BRCC started the game on a high note with an infield single by Morgan Berry. Alexis Groce bunted Morgan over safely to second. With a runner in scoring position, Virginia Cacioppo hits a RBI single to centerfield putting the Lady Bears up 1-0.

After Bossier Parish tied the game up in the third inning with a solo home run, Baton Rouge answered with two more runs taking a 3-1 lead. A hot-hitting Hughes, started the fifth inning with a signle to left center. Taylor Coulon followed suit with an infield hit. Cacioppo then doubled to score both runners. 

Unfortunately, three runs were not enough in game two. Bossier won 5-3.
