Lady Bears Sweep Bossier Parrish

Lady Bears Sweep Bossier Parrish

The Lady Bears played their home opener on Tuesday evening when they faced Bossier Parrish Community College. The fans at Oak Villa Park were given two great ball games that came down to the final at bats.

Ashley Bolin started game one for the Lady Bears and threw a complete game for the win. Trailing 3-0 in the second inning the Lady Bears answered with a big inning of their own. Two walks, two singles and two doubles led to four runs for the Lady Bears and a 4-3 lead. BRCC added another run when Sydney McCullough doubled to left field; followed by an RBI single by Sydni O'Neal.

Heading into the 7th inning BRCC led 5-3, but were unable to put away the Lady Cavs. Bossier Parrish tied the game at 5-5 and the game went extra innings.

After an uneventful 8th inning, Bossier Parrish scored two runs in the 9th inning, but BRCC answered with two of their own. Tied 7-7 heading into the 9th inning, Bossier Parrish added two more runs to lead 9-7 over the Lady Bears.

The Lady Bears were able to push three runs across in the 10th inning to win by the final score of 10-9.

In the second game, BRCC was up 5-0 before Bossier Parris scored four runs in the fifth inning. The Lady Bears added some much needed insurance in the 6th inning and went to the seventh inning with a 7-4 lead. BPCC did not go away quietly, scoring two runs in the top half of the 7th inning, but they were not able to push the tying run across. BRCC held on for a 7-6 win and pushing their winning streak to four games.

BRCC is 6-5 on the young season and host Southwest Mississippi for a doubleheader on Thursday afternoon. Game times are set for 3:00 and 5:00 pm.
