It was a back-and-forth contest between the Bears and the Trojans, this afternoon in the Bears Den. The game saw eleven ties and eleven lead changes. The Bears would pull away at the halfway mark of the second half, as they would go on a 18 to 7 run to take a 80 to 68 lead. The Bears would not look back, after that run, as they would defeat the Trojans 91 to 79.

In the first half, the opening minutes of the game was a back-and-forth affair between the two ball clubs. The Trojans did take advantage of some sloppy play by the Bears to open an eight-point lead;18-10 with 13:50 to go in the half. The Bears would continue to fight and tie the game at 27 with 5:26 left to play, in the half. The last five minutes of the half mimic the first few minutes with each team trading buckets and defensive stops thus at the half we were all tied at 38.

In the beginning of the second half, The Bears would go on a mini run to open an eight-point lead;55-47 with 15:03 left in the half. The Trojan would fight back and tie the game three times, in the next six minutes. With 9:57 to go in the game the Bears and the Trojans were tied at 61. The Bears would then go on an 18 to 7 run to take a commanding twelve-point advantage in which they would never relinquish. Baton Rouge would go on to defeat Mississippi Delta 91 to 79.

Jaylen Streeter led all Bears with 18 points, while the Trojans were led in scoring by Keondra Hampton and Elijah Hollins who both had 19 points.

With the victory the Bears improved to 2-2, while the Trojans dropped to 3-1 on the season. The series record between these two teams is now tied at five wins a piece for both ball clubs.

Bears Highlights

Jaylen Streeter had a game high of 18 points to lead the Bears.

Reginald Stoner Jr and Jarrell Love each added 16 points.

Jaiden Lee added 15 points.

Arzika Seibou added 10 point.

The Bears will return to action this Monday November 13, 2023 as they take on the Pearl River Wildcats at 6 pm in the Bonne Sant Wellness Center on the BRCC Mid City Campus.
