Bears fall to Bengals

Baton Rouge Bears were unable to match the second half surge by the LSUE Bengals tonight in this LCCAC match-up.  Baton Rouge falls to LSUE by the final score of 93 to 80.

The first half was an even match up between the two teams.  The game was tied twice. After the game was tied at 35 with 3:47 left to play in the half, the Bengals would go on a 13 to 3 run to close out the half and take a 48 to 38 lead into the break.

LSUE would open the second half on a 12 to 6 run to extend their lead to 60 to 44, with 13:43 to play.  The Bears would continue to fight but they could not overcome LSUE's lead.

LSUE was led in scoring by J. Cisse who scored a game high 23 points. The Bears were led in scoring by Javon Brazile.

With the victory the LSUE Bengals improve to 15-3, 4-0 in conference play while the Baton Rouge Bears fall to 6-16, 1-3 on the season.

Special Note: At the half, Former LSU Head Men's Basketball Coach Dale Brown was honored for his contribution to basketball in the state of Louisiana and especially the Baton Rouge area.

Bears Highlights:

Javon Brazile led all Bears with 17 points

Ronald Pugh II added 15 points

DeAntray Hughes scored 11 points

Spencer Mays and Brenden Vessel each scored 10 points.

 

The Bears will be in action this Wednesday February 5, 2020 as they take on the Delgado Dolphins at 7:30 pm in the Bonne Santé Wellness Center.
