The No. 13 ranked Holmes Community College Bulldogs defeats the Baton Rouge Bears 84-59 tonight, in a region 23 match up.
It was a sloppy three minutes for both teams to start the game. The Bulldogs then found their offense and went on a 16-6 run to take an eleven point lead midway through the half. The Bears found a bit of a rhythm toward the end of the half but Holmes increased their pressure causing unforced turnovers by the Bears and transition buckets for the Bulldogs. Holmes led 39-23 at halftime.
In the second half, Holmes continued their pressure and jumped out to a quick twenty-five point advantage that the Bears could not recover from. The Bulldogs outscored the Bears 45-36 in the second half.
Baton Rouge was out rebounded 46 to 27 by Holmes .
With the loss, the Bears fall to 1-8, while Holmes improves to 5-2 overall.
Holmes was led in scoring by Tanorrio Ransburgh and Robert Jordan who each finished with 14 points. Baton Rouge was led by Javon Brazile with 13 points.

Javon Brazile led the Bears with 13 points and 3 rebounds
Terry Johnson scored 11 points with 2 rebounds
Prince Campbell and Eric Matthews each finished with 8 points
Bears will be back in action on Monday December 3, as they face Coastal Alabama South at 6 pm in the Bonne Sante Wellness Center.
