Bears Hold Off Late Dolphins' Charge for the Win

Baton Rouge escaped New Orleans with a three point win over Delgado this afternoon.   BRCC held a eight point lead at the half.  The halftime score was Bears 41 and Dolphins 33. The Dolphins outscored the Bears by five in the second half, 41 to 36, but could not pull off the victory. Baton Rouge shot 56 % from the floor and was 7 for 14 from the three point line. The Bears also shot 30 free throws making 20 of them. Delgado  shot 78 % from the floor but only 30 % from the three point line(6 for 20).  Delgado shot 39 free throws making 28 of them.  

Javier Roper led the Bears in scoring with 22 points. Delgado was lead by Wallis and Jones who each had 17 points.

Baton Rouge improves to a record of 9-9, 1-0 in conference while Delgado falls to 3-15, 1-1 in conference.

 

Bears Highlights:

Javier Roper led all Bears with 22 points, 7 Rebounds and 2 Blocks

Makye Richard added 12 points, 3 Rebounds and 2 Assist

Terrance Dodson scored 11 points with 5 Rebounds.

 

The Bears will be back in action, this Wednesday February 7,  when they face Southern-Shreveport, in the Bonne Sante Wellness Center.  Game time has been moved up to 6:00 pm,  since there will no longer be a women's basketball game.
