November 17, 2017: Men's Basketball

Baton Rouge,LA

Baton Rouge Bears pulled out a much needed win in their return to the friendly confines of the Bonne Sante Welness Center.  Bears (2-4) beat William Carey JV 76 to 58 on Friday Night. BRCC played with a better defensive pressure and regained their touch on the offensive end of the floor. Baton Rouge shot 48 % from the field and 78% from the free throw line.  After the game, Coach Wilson was proud of his guys but wants them to play better.  He wants his kids to be more consistent on the defensive side of the ball and reduce the amount of turnovers his young ball team gives up. They had 21 turnovers in tonights game.  The Bears were led in scoring by freshman guard Keandre Randall who had 21 points, 3 assist,2 steals, and 8 rebounds.  Also, playing well for the bears, again,  is sophomore forward from Meriden, CT, Dominique Elliot.  Dominique scored 14 points, shot 50 % from the field , and was a perfect 4 for 4 from the free throw line. Makye Richard, also turned in a solid performance, with a double double, 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Bears will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday November 20 and 21 as they take part in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Thanksgiving Classic.  On Monday November 20, the Bears will take on the host team Mississippi Gulf Coast at 6:45 pm.
