The men's basketball program at Baton Rouge Community College has qualified for the Region 23 Tournament in Clinton, MS. They did so by producing a 17-8 record on the season and earning the #4 seed in this week's event. With an opportunity to earn a berth into the NJCAA Division I National Championship in Hutchinson, KS later this month.
Postseason play begins tonight with a game against Southwest Mississippi Community College. The teams have played twice this season, with BRCC winning both matchups. The first game was a thirty point victory back in November. The second game held at BRCC in January and the Bears prevailed with a five point win.
Both teams enter the Region 23 Tournament with matching 17-8 records. The winner of tonight's gmae will face the winner betweent #1 seed Jones County Junior College and #8 seed Holmes Community College.
Game time is set for 5:30 pm.
