The Bears quest to repeat as Miss-Lou Conference Champions did not begin according to plan. They find themselves 0-1 in conference play after falling to Delgado on Saturday evening 80-67. The loss brings the Bears overall record to 8-14.
The first half was a back and forth battle with BRCC taking a 39-38 advantage into the lockerroom. Joshua Ivory made 4-three pointers in the first half and the Bears made six total. Darryl Braggs added 16 points during the opening frame.
Action continued back and forth with Delgado leading 63-60 with under eight minutes to play. From that point forward BRCC went cold and Delgado used a 17-7 run to win by the final margin.
Darryl Braggs lead the team in scoring with 23 points. Joshua Ivory was the only other Bear who managed doiuble-figures and he finished with 17 (including five-three pointers).
