Bears Baseball Signing Day !

The Baton Rouge Community College Athletic Department held a signing ceremony for four Bears baseball student athletes that will continue their athletic and academic careers at four-year institutions, today at Pete Goldsby Field. John Touchet, Braden McLin, Lane Patin and Collin Dupre all signed scholarships to attend  four year institutions. The Bears Baseball program has had a rich success of sending student athletes to four-year institutions. The Bears have had over 100 student athletes move on to the next level in the program's twenty-year history. The Bears have also had five student athletes play in professional baseball. 

Details About Today's Signees:

John Touchet is an outfielder / left-handed pitcher from Abbeville, Louisiana. JT has signed to continue his academic and athletic career at Louisiana Christian University in Pineville. JT signed with the Bears out of North Vermilion High School. In JT's  career as a Bears, he has a .253 batting average with 154 AB, 29 Runs, 39Hits, 10 doubles, 2triokes, 1HR, 21 RBIs and 17 stolen bases. He has also contributed on the mound for the Bears with 5 wins and 4 losses. JT has played in games 72 during his Bears playing career. (Stats are before postseason play)

Braden McLin is an outfielder / right-handed pitcher from Livingston, Louisiana. Braden has signed to continue his academic and athletic career at Louisiana Christian University in Pineville. B Mac signed with the Bears out of Doyle High School. In Braden's career as a Bear, he has a .272 batting average with 257 AB, 47Runs, 70 Hits, 7 doubles, 6 triples, 8 homers, 51 RBIs and 27 stolen bases. He also has made 13 appearances on the mound for the Bears.  McLin has played in 95 games during his Bears playing career. (Stats are before postseason play)

Lane Patin is an infielder from Maurice, Louisiana. Lane has signed to continue his academic and athletic career at Louisiana State University in Alexandria (LSUA). Patin signed with the Bears out of North Vermilion High School. In Lane's career as a Bear, he has .289 batting average with 97 AB, 25 Runs,28 Hits, 5 doubles, 18 BB, 12 stolen bases. He redshirted his freshman year due to a broken hamate bone in his hand, thus he has three years of eligibility remaining. Lane played in 44 games for the Baton Rouge. (Stats are before postseason play)

Collin Dupre is an outfielder from Geismar, Louisiana. Collin has signed to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Texas at Tyler. Dupre signed with the Bears out of Dutchtown High School. In Collin's career as a Bear, he has a .339 batting average with 280 AB, 65 Runs, 95 Hits,18 doubles, 4 triples, 4 HR, 48 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases. During his freshman year, Collin was named to the first Team All-Region team. Collin played in 90 games for Baton Rouge. (Stats are before postseason play)
