Big Inning Hurts Bears against Navarro

Navarro Bulldogs use two big innings to take down the Baton Rouge Bears by the final score of 11 to 3, in seven innings.

The Bulldogs got on the board first with four runs, in the first inning. Baton Rouge would get on the board, in the fifth inning, with two runs. Donavon Murray would lead off with a walk, followed by a walk by Cameron Crawford then William Veillon reached on a error loading the bases. Crawford and Veillon would score when Bo Barrilleaux would single to centerfield. In the bottom of the fifth, the Bulldogs would explode for seven runs to take a commanding 11 to 2 lead. Baton Rouge would add a run in the sixth but it would not be enough to overcome the early deficient.  In the sixth, the Bears would score when William Veillon hit a double to right field scoring Donavon Murray, who had walked.

Navarro out hit Baton Rouge 12 to 6.  Each team committed one error.

Austin Faith grabbed the victory for the Bulldogs.  He pitched four and two-thirds innings allowing two runs on three hits, while striking out three. Evan Becnel got the loss for the Bears.  Becnel pitched four innings, allowing eight runs on eleven hits, while striking out two.

Bears Highlights:

Cameron Crawford went 1 for 3 with 1 Run and 1 BB

William Veillon went 1 for 4 with 1 run, 1RBI

Bo Barrilleaux went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and 1 BB

Kolby Blanchard went 1 for 2 with 2BB

Mitchel Lemoine went 1 for 3 with 1 BB

 

Bears will be back in action this Tuesday February 13 as they travel to Mississippi Gulf Coast to play a doubleheader starting at 3 pm.
