Late Runs by Gators Downs the Bears

San Jac used two big innings late to overtake Baton Rouge 12 to 5. San Jac got on the board first with a two run homer by J. Myron to left field. The Gators then scored one run in the next three innings to take a 5 to 0 lead over the Bears. Baton Rouge scored their first run, in the fourth inning, when the Bears would load the bases and the Gators would walk Troy Banks to score Hunter David from third. BRCC would take advantage of the Gators pitchers lack of control, in the sixth,  to score four runs to tie the game at five. San Jac pitchers walked the bases loaded then Troy Banks walked to score the Bears  first run of the frame. Garrett Barrilleaux would walk scoring another run. Joseph Schopp and Troy Banks would each score on a wild pitch. San Jac would regain their lead with four runs, in the seventh, and three runs, in the eighth,  enroute to the 12 to 5 victory.

Sergio Macias got the victory for San Jac. He pitched two innings, allowing 0 runs on 2 hits while striking out 4. Brooks Southall got the loss for the Bears pitching one inning, allowing 4 runs on 4 hits.

 

The Gators outhit the Bears 17 to 5.

Seth Daugherty went 2 for 5

Sam Jarrell went 3 for 4 with 1 Run

 

The Bears will be back in action this Saturday May 5, as they continue the best of seven series with the Delgado Dolphins. The series moves to a neutral site, which will be at Maestri Field (Privateer Park) on the Campus of University of New Orleans. Game five is set to start at 1 pm. Delgado has a 3 to 1 lead in the series.
