Bears blow out Wharton County

Bears' offense was on fire this afternoon versus Wharton County. BRCC blew out Wharton 14 to 4, in seven innings. Wharton got on the board first with one run in the second. Baton Rouge exploded for 7 runs, in the second, to take the commanding 7 to 1 lead. Brandon Wild would drive in two when he reached on an error to start the scoring. Troy Banks would score on a Kendall Kennedy sac fly to center field.  Wild would score on a pass ball. Alex Courtier would single to right field driving home Donovan Murray, who walked. Hunter David would end the scoring when he tripled to centerfield scoring Courtier and Dufrene.

Bears would strike again with two more runs, in the third.  Troy Banks would score on a Jared Kilcrease sac fly to right field and Brandon Wild would score on an Alex Courtier sac fly to left field.

Wharton would score two runs in the fifth and one more in the sixth but it was not enough to beat the Bears. Baton Rouge would put up a five spot, in the sixth, to grab the 14 to 4 victory.

Joseph Battaglia III earned the victory for Baton Rouge.  He pitched five innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits while striking out two. William Garrett Smith threw two innings in relief, giving up 1 run on 1 hit. Matthew Oleson got the loss for Wharton County. Oleson only lasted one inning, allowing 7 runs on 5 hits.
