Bears fall in series finale to the LSUE Bengals

Nationally ranked LSUE Bengals win game three of the series Monday night, by a score of 10 to 2.  Bengals would get on the board first with one run, in the second, when Johnny Johnson would single driving in a run. Bears would tie the game, in the second, with a Garrett Barrilleaux homer. LSUE would pick up 2 more runs, in the fifth inning, to seal the victory. The Bengals would actually score 7 runs over the last 4 innings to win the game 10 to 2. BRCC would score again, in the seventh inning, when Joseph Schopp would double to left field driving in Garrett Barrilleaux, who reached on a double of his own. 

LSUE out hit BRCC 16 to 7, on the night. LSUE hit two homers on the day.  Johnson went deep in the sixth while Mixon went yard, in the seventh.

Dane Dixon got the victory for the Bengals.  He pitched five innings allowing 1 run off of 5 hits. Michael Smith took the loss for the Bears.  He surrendered 3 runs on 8 hits over four and a third innings.

LSUE Bengals take the series 3 to 0.

Bears Highlights:

Garrett Barrilleaux went 2 for 4 with 2 Runs and 1 RBI. Homered in second.

Joseph Schopp went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI

 

Bears will be back in action this Saturday April 21, as they begin the best of seven series against the Delgado Dolphins at  Kirsch-Rooney Stadium in New Orleans. First pitch is set for 3 pm. The winner of the series will represent Region 23 Division 1 in the regional round of the playoffs.
