Bengals's Andrew Sheridan pitched a complete game shutout to defeat the Bears 5 to 0,  this afternoon at Bengals Stadium. LSUE got on the board first with one run, on a Bears miscue on a fly ball. Bengals added to their lead in the third, with three runs, in which, two of those came off a B. Hebert homer to left field. Bengals would homer again in the fourth, when C. Horton hit it off of the left field foul pole.  After four the Bengals held a 5 to 0 lead and that would be margin of victory for this second game of the series. The Bears struggled at the plate and only had three hits compared to 7 for LSUE.  One bright spot for the Bears was their bullpen. Evan Becnel, Brandon Morris, and Brandon Wild combined to pitch 5 innings of shutout baseball. Combined they allowed no hits and struck out 7.

Andrew Sheridan would pick up the victory for the Bengals, pitching a complete game shut out.  He allowed 0 runs on 3 hits while striking out 6 Bears. Brooks Southall got the loss for the Bears pitching three innings allowing 5 runs on 7 hits.

Seth Daugherty went 1 for 3 with 1BB

Jonah Overland went 1 for 3

Joseph Schopp went 1 for 3

Brandon Morris pitched 2 innings in relief striking out 4.

 

Bears will be back in action this Saturday April  21, as they travel to New Orleans,  to start the Region XXIII Division 1 best of 7 series with the Delgado Dolphins.  First pitch is set for 3 pm. The quest for the title begins.
