#1 Ranked LSUE Bengals jumped out to an early 5 run lead that the Bears could not overcome. Bengals win game one of the series 11 to 3.  Bears got their first hit of the game, in the second inning, when Lee Whitaker hit a hard ground ball to right field, but they struggled against  Bengals pitcher Zach Hester all evening.  BRCC would finally get on the board, in the fourth inning, when Lee Whiatker would double driving in Seth Daugherty.  After four, LSUE held a 6 to 1 lead.  Bengals would score 1 run in the fourth and 3 runs in the fifth to put the game out of reach for the Bears.  BRCC had a bit of life when they would score one run in the seventh and one run in the eighth.  In the seventh, the Bears would score one run when Michael Smith hit into a fielders choice scoring Samuel Jarrell. In the eighth, Kendall Kennedy would score off a Bengal's wild pitch.  Bengals pounded out 14 hits off of five different Bears pitchers.

Brant Garrett took the loss for the Bears pitching one and one-third innings allowing 6 runs off 6 hits. Zach Hester got the victory for the Bengals pitching six innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 10 Bears.

A bright spot for the Bears was their bullpen. Payton Russell came in to pitch three and two-thirds inning allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on five hits while striking out five. Trevor Benoit, Vincent Laurent and Braxton Dufrene combined to pitch three innings, allowing 1 run off of 3 hits, while striking out 2.
