BRCC Bears bats came alive Friday night as they pounded out 10 hits and scored 14 runs, on route to a run rule victory over Nunez. Final score after five innings was Baton Rouge 14 and Nunez 2. BRCC scored in four of the five innings. The scoring started in the second inning when the Bears erupted for seven runs.

Second inning highlights include a Michael Smith single to score David, a Seth Daugherty double which would score two runs and a Hunter David single to score two more runs. Bears would bat a-around in the inning.  After two innings the Bears had a 7-0 lead.

Baton Rouge would tact on another run in the third to increase their lead to 8-0.

Nunez would get on the board in the fourth inning with two runs. In the bottom of the fourth, the Bears would score three runs. Cameron Crawford would triple scoring two runs. He would then score on a sac fly by Garrett Barrilleaux.

Bears would end the game ,in the bottom of the fifth inning, when Seth Daugherty would get on with a single to centerfield, Lee Whitaker would reach on an error and Hunter David would hit a homerun.

Michael Russell would get the win for the Bears, while Dominic Carole got the loss for Nunez.

Bears Highlights:

Hunter David went 2 for 2 with 3 Runs,5 RBIs,1BB. This includes his 3 run homerun to end the game.

Seth Daugherty went 2 for 4 with 1 Run and 4 RBIs

Tyler Caston went 1 for 4 with 2Runs and 1RBI

Cameron Crawford went 1 for 3 with 1Run and 2 RBIs

Garrett Barrilleaux went 1 for 1 with 2 Runs and 1 RBI

Michael Russell pitched a complete game five innings allowing 2 Runs on 3 hits and striking out 7.

The Bears will be back in action on Friday March 16 versus LSUE at Pete Goldsby Field. Game time is 6 pm
