Bossier Parish takes two from Baton Rouge

Bossier Parish takes two from Baton Rouge this afternoon at Pete Goldsby Field.  

Bears fall in game one, to the Bossier Parish Cavs 6 to 3 in seven innings. The Bears would score first with one run, in the first inning. Kolby Blanchard opened the game with a single to left field followed by a Seth Daugherty walk. Hunter David would score Blanchard with a single to centerfield. After one inning, the Bears had a 1 to 0 lead over the Cavs.

The Cavs would pick up three runs in the third inning, which included a two run homerun by K. Jones.  Samuel Jarrell would answer back for the Bears,in the bottom of the frame, with a solo homerun. After three innings, the Bears trailed 3 to 2. Bossier would add two more runs to their lead, in the fifth inning,  with a 2 run homerun by Parrott. BRCC would threaten,in the bottom of the fifth, when they would load the bases. One run would score on a Hunter David walk but the inability of the Bears to move runners left the Bears with the bases loaded. After five inning, the Cavs lead 5 to 2. Bossier would add an insurance run,in the top of the seventh, via a homerun by K. Jones. That was the second homerun of the game for K. Jones. The Bears would go down in order,in the bottom of the seventh, to end the game. Final score was BRCC 3 and Bossier 6.

Brandt Garrett took the loss for the Bears, pitching five innings allowing five runs on six hits and striking out four. T.Johnson got the win for Bossier, pitching a complete game allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out six Bears.

In game two, Bossier Parish jumped out to an early 11 to 4 lead over the Bears.  Cavs would extend their lead in the fourth inning when they plated six.  That is when the Bears bats woke up and they scored six runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth.  After four innings, Bossier held a 17 to 10 lead over Baton Rouge.  Cavs would scratch a run together in the six inning to take a 18 to 10 led over the Bears. The Bears would not go away and would score 6 runs, in the finally three innings, but the comeback rally falls short by two.  Final Score was Bossier 18 and Baton Rouge 16. 

Will Hine took the victory for Bossier while Brooks Southall took the loss for the Bears. One highlight from game two was a homerun by Kolby BlanchardBrandon Wild pitched 3 inning in relief for the Bears allowing 1 run on 3 hits and striking out 3.

Kolby Blanchard went 2 for 4 with 1 Run

Hunter David went 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs and 1 BB

Tyler Caston went 1 for 3 with a run.

Samuel Jarrell went 2 for 3 with 1 Run and 1 RBI

Bears Highlights Game 2:

Kolby Blanchard went 3 for 5 including a homerun and 2 runs and 2 RBIs

Seth Daugherty went 4 for 5 with 2 Runs and 1 RBI.

Garrett Barrilleaux went 2 for 5 with 2 Runs and 2 RBIs

Lee Whitaker went 1 for 4 with 1 run and 3 RBIs

Donovan Murray went 2 for 2 with 3 runs

Joseph Schopp went 1 for 3 with 2 runs and 4 RBIs
