Bears Split Doubleheader with Bossier Parish

BRCC jumped all over Bossier Parish on Saturday afternoon. Scoring multiple runs in four of the first five innings, which included a five-run fourth inning. Baton Rouge defeated Bossier Parish 13-3, combining for 14 hits in the seven inning contest.

David Hunter led BRCC at the plate. He went 3 for 5 with 3 RBI's and scored a run. 

John Mauldin also went 3 for 5 with a triple. He scored two runs and a RBI.

Pryce Fletcher, and Bo Barrilleaux each collected multiple hits for the Bears. 

Mossy Mueller scored three runs and finished 1 for 3 with a walk. 

Troy Whitty started the game, pitching three innings; Whitty allowed three runs and five hits, while striking out three. 

Keith Meier entered the game in a relief role and secured the win for BRCC. Meier didn't allow a run in four innings. He surrendered two hits and had two strike outs in the victory.

The Bears bats could not connect in game two of the doubleheader. BRCC managed only three hits en route to a 15-1 loss to Bossier Parish. 

Chase Martin started the game for Baton Rouge, but only managed to last 2 1/3 innings. He gave up seven hits and five earned runs, Martin managed to strike out four in his short stint.

BRCC mustered only three singles in the game. Mossy Mueller had two, with Aidan Hodges had the third. 

Baton Rouge is 2-3 after the first weekend. The Bears are off until Saturday afternoon when they host Weatherford College and Wharton County Junior College. BRCC plays at 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm on February 4th.
