            Watson, Freeman Share LSWA State Player of the Week

            RUSTON, La. – Baton Rouge Community College sophomore guard Kayla Watson and Tulane sophomore forward Krystal Freeman have been named this week's Louisiana Sports Writers Association State Women's Basketball Co-Players of the Week by a vote of the association's members.

            Watson averaged 22.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.3 steals in three games during the week while leading the program to a 1-2 mark. She shot 53 percent (25-47) from the field and 80 percent (16-20) from the free throw line.

The Amite, La., native scored 32 points and registered six steals in a double overtime loss to Southwest Mississippi. She posted 26 points and had six rebounds in a win over Mississippi Delta and has 12 points in a loss to Kilgore.

Freeman did her damage in only one game for the Green Wave. She scored 17 points and grabbed 20 rebounds to lead Tulane to a 68-57 win over East Carolina in the AAC opener for the Green Wave. The 20 rebounds – 10 offensive and 10 defensive – is tied for the second most ever in a single game in program history.

The Pineville, La., native also added two assists and one block in 32 minutes of action in the win.
