The Baton Rouge Community College Athletic Department took part, in an evening, highlighting students for their academic, athletic, leadership and club membership for the 2017- 2018 school year. This event was sponsored by the Student Government Association.
The following athletes were recognized for their achievements.
Women's Basketball
Celica Sterling was named 2017-2018 MVP
Mariah Jones was named practice player of the year. ( After each practice the coaches name the player who worked hard and advanced their game as well as helped the team improve. At the end of the year the player with the most signatures on the ball wins the practice player of the year)
Ashlyn Donaldson won Academic Award
Harlee Doucet won the Coach's Award
Kalya Watson won Newcomer of the Year
Men's Basketball
Michael Harden Jr. won the Academic Award
Makye Richard won the Coach's Award and was given his plaque for being named to the Region 23 All Tournament Team.
Baseball and Softball deferred their awards till the end of their season. Those names will be posted on our social media platforms once they become available.
